"Origami" in Sanlihe, Qian'an, Hebei
The project is located along the Sanli River in Hedong District in the east of Qian'an City, Hebei Province. Sanli River is the mother river of Qian'an, carrying the long history of Qian'an and many memories of ordinary people. Inspired by the famous local paper-cutting art, an 800-meter-long red origami corridor runs through the center of the project. The zigzags are installed under the willow trees on the original river, making the structures, seats, boardwalks and lighting into a whole, realizing multiple functions such as collection of viewing, rest and entertainment, sun and rain. These Chinese red artworks are made of composite materials, which not only perfectly present the smart shape of origami, but the soft outer surface is also more affinity, allowing people to experience the origami culture intimately.
