A steel-structure factory building with a daylighting strip includes walls, fixed panels, and a roof—all part of the mining-strip steel plant. Walls: The upper part of the front surface of the wall is equipped with ventilation devices; the middle and lower parts of the front surface feature windows and decorative elements; and the upper left and right corners of the wall are fitted with a second daylighting strip. On the inner lower-left and lower-right corners of the wall’s interior surface, there are soundproofing layers. At the upper part of the inner back surface of the wall, there is an illumination device; in the central area of the inner back surface, there is a sensing device. Fixed Panels: The fixed panel is located on the top surface of the wall, and its central inner surface is fitted with soundproof glass. Roof: The daylighting strip on the roof is installed on the top surface of the fixed panel. On the upper surface of this roof, a row of daylighting strips is arranged. This roof design provides excellent lighting, ventilation, and thermal insulation effects. When natural light is insufficient, it effectively addresses lighting issues, bringing convenience to normal production operations.
Lighting method for steel-structure factory buildings with daylighting strips: 1) Use polycarbonate solar panels for daylighting; fabricate an arched or inclined frame and secure it to the sub-gong nails using aluminum alloy pressure bars. Apply a specialized neutral sealant for waterproofing. Use slightly larger drill bits, and seal the ends as well.
2) The fiberglass daylighting strip can be manufactured using a single-sheet machine (matching the roofing color-coated sheets) and fixed onto Zigong nails as saddle supports. If it overlaps perpendicularly with the color-coated sheets, consider using a long polypropylene sealant for waterproofing, ensuring that the pre-drilled hole is slightly larger than the diameter of the Zigong nail. Alternatively, it can also be fabricated using two layers of skylights.
Steel Structure Installation of Skylight Strips: Polycarbonate solar panels are durable daylighting products designed to withstand climatic conditions. During installation, handle them with care—damage and scratches can significantly shorten their service life. The skylight strip should overlap the color-coated steel sheet, with the polycarbonate panel covering the color-coated sheet. Fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) daylighting panels are manufactured using molds identical to those for color-coated steel sheets. When installing these panels on roofs, adjust their length to ensure proper light transmission, much like arranging a dog’s leash. After partially installing the daylighting panels, reserve an overlap length; during overlap, apply adhesive along the width direction on the lower panel, then press the upper panel down simultaneously. If the models of the daylighting panels and color-coated steel sheets differ, use a uniform length setting. If the panels overlap longitudinally, employ a cover strip to prevent water leakage. You can also fabricate back-seals from FRP to enhance the sealing performance. 2. Precautions for Installing Light Panels: 1) The diameter of the drilled holes should be 50% larger than the fastener diameter to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction. 2) To achieve effective waterproofing and dustproofing, always use high-quality waterproof washers between the screws and the light panels. 3) Place double-sided adhesive tape above the edge beams of the ladder to prevent direct friction between the light panels and the ladder beams. 4) At locations where panels overlap longitudinally, apply two strips of double-sided adhesive tape to ensure watertight performance.
