To help the children of Yaohua Equipment Group prepare for the Gaokao and fulfill their dreams of attending their ideal universities, on the afternoon of August 12, the Group’s trade union organized a lively Gaokao experience-sharing session. Xiao Minghao, who scored the highest raw-score in our city—677 points—in the 2021 Gaokao physics category, was invited to the Group, along with his father, Xiao Zhanjie, the head of the Group’s Finance Department, to share their insights and experiences on studying and personal growth with employees whose family members are taking the Gaokao.
Before the sharing session began, Fu Xiujun, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group Company, met with Xiao Minghao, congratulated him on his outstanding performance in the college entrance examination, and encouraged him to keep up his hard work in his studies.
Before the Gaokao, Xiao Minghao attended No. 1 Middle School in Qinhuangdao City and has now been admitted to the pilot class for educational reform at the School of Gifted Young Students at the University of Science and Technology of China.
At the sharing session, Xiao Minghao shared insights from six perspectives: intrinsic motivation for learning, emphasizing summarization and reflection, solidifying foundational knowledge, making good use of fragmented time, strengthening communication with teachers and classmates, and maintaining a positive mindset. He also highlighted three key takeaways: First, “Be erudite, ask probing questions, think carefully, discern clearly, and act decisively”; second, identify and address your own shortcomings in learning; and third, master exam-taking techniques and cultivate the right mindset.
Xiao Minghao’s father, Xiao Zhanjie, Head of the Group Finance Department, shared his experience in supporting his child’s studies with colleagues from three perspectives: First, maintain a calm mindset, offer plenty of encouragement and praise; second, provide solid logistical support, show greater care for the examinees, and pay attention to balancing work and rest; third, offer extra-curricular tutoring—provide more assistance in subjects where the student excels, while focusing on building a strong foundation in weaker subjects.
At the request of the Chairman, Deng Peng, Chairman of the Trade Union of the Group Company, presented Xiao Minghao with a scholarship gift. He was deeply moved by Xiao Minghao’s sharing of his intrinsic motivation for learning and encouraged everyone to cultivate strong internal drive in their future work and proactively engage in their tasks with enthusiasm.
